From Calcutta airport you can take a taxi to Navadvipa for about 1200-1400 rupees. This is the best option by far for most devotees.
For returning to Kolkata or to Barddhaman Junction you can book a taxi at several places opposite the ISKCON temple in Mayapura or at the Navadvipa money changer's office (see map below). Since this is a busy time of the year, it would be advisable to book your return taxi soon after arriving.
One of the Mayapura Taxi companies opposite the ISKCON gate is the Krishna Travel Agency. Their phone number is (03472) 245655 or (03472) 245711. Their mobile numbers are (03472) 315754 and (03472) 312384. They hire all types of vehicles, from cars up to buses including AC Sumo and Non-AC Sumo. They can also book train and air tickets though I have never used them for that. In August 2004 we paid Rs 1800 for a Non-AC Sumo from Mayapura to Barddhaman Junction (we were taking the Poorva Express). There was room for six devotees, a driver and his assistant, and lots of luggage thanks to the large roof rack.
