Srimad Bhagavad-gita
Srimad Bhagavad-gita

We are humbly announcing the publication of the third English edition of Srimad Bhagavad-gita, translated from the Hindi edition of Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja. The two commentators of this Gita are Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura and Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja, who often concludes his purports with an excerpt from the charming Rasika-ranjana commentary of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura. These noble emissaries of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu deliver the Gita with purports that direct us toward the ultimate goal of Gaudiya Vaisnavism.

Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja's renowned and endearing speciality is his inherent unalloyed devotion to the most refined Gauòéya conceptions in the line of Srila Rupa Gosvami, which signifies his perfect alignment with his noble preceptors. It is not possible for him to leave such conceptions for a fraction of a moment, and therefore, it follows that they suffuse all of his Gita purports.

The commentary of Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura possesses the uniqueness of revealing Sri Krsna's inner intention in His instructions to Arjuna. And it also reveals the doubts that arose in the mind of Arjuna that prompted him to question Sri Krsna as he did. The reader is thus privy to the intimacy of their conversation and can therefore comprehend the reason for the succession of verses.

This edition has only come about by the causeless mercy of Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja and Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura. Only if they are pleased will we deem our efforts a success.
