WORLD WIDE NAGAR SANKIRTAN

 Gour Nitai

During the next eclipse, which falls on September 11, 2007, devotees from every part of the world will bring the all auspicious holy name of Sri Krishna to the world in the form of a world-wide Nagar Sankirtan and book distributing blitz.
In Vedic culture it is well known that eclipses bring inauspicious energies to the earth, and that during these times the most effective antidote to this inauspiciousness is the congregational chanting of the holy names of Sri Krishna.

This coming eclipse is astrologically even more significant as it is occurring at the same degree of the Zodiac as the Uranus Pluto conjunction of 1965, which coincided with Srila Prabhupada's arrival in the West, and therefore reignites the same revolutionary transformational energy that came into the world at that time. Forty two years later, Uranus has travelled halfway around the Zodiac and is now directly opposite this point. This brings about a further revival of this energy, in a way that is consolidating and deepening. In simple words, Srila Prabhupada's mission is undergoing a second wave and this eclipse has the potential to revive that same enthusiasm for sankirtana and book distribution that was there in the beginning.

So, all devotees around the world, gather together and take to the streets. Take your books, karatels, gongs and mridangas, and your sweet moods of service and devotion. On a day when the whole world is remembering the shock of terrorism, and the eclipse is bringing darkness to the world, we can remind the world of the sweetness of Krishna's holy names, and the supreme happiness of chanting them. Wherever you are in the world, be a part of this.

A Sanga Space group has been formed to inspire and coordinate World Wide Nagar Sankirtan. Please let us know your plans, your successes and your inspirations. Find us at: http://purekatha.ning.com/group/worldwidenagarsankirtangroup
