Rays of The Harmonist

There is no other alternative for getting rid of our measuring temperament. We are now equipped with senses that are incapable of leading us to the Truth. We are liable to be deluded by the influence of māyā, and māyā is but a trap. If we want to avoid that trap, we are to submit to Him unconditionally. So prapatti, which means full submission, is the essential thing....

The extent to which I am deprived of the lotus feet of Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī, my accomplishment in service is lacking. Only those in exclusive subservience to Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī are the rightful owners of absolute wealth. Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī is the epitome of kṛṣṇānuśīlanam....

We deprive ourselves for hundreds and hundreds of lifetimes by busying ourselves in acquiring temporary things. There are countless examples of people bravely overcoming severe obstacles and even sacrificing their lives for petty mundane things. In light of this, can not intelligent persons – those with the extreme fortune of being devotees – dedicate their brief lifetime, bravely overcoming any number of problems, to serve that Supreme Lord, who was the Absolute Truth before time began, who is the Absolute Truth in the present, and who will be the Absolute Truth for all eternity?...

What is Bhakti?

Bhakti is an ancient Sanskrit word which means Pure Love and Devotion. “Pure” implies that there is no adulteration or mixture of anything else. Love in its highest and most perfect state must be entirely pure and devoid of any other desire than to give happiness and benefit to the beloved, the object of one’s love.

In the ancient Vedic literatures, the Supreme object of the love of all beings is the Absolute Truth, the Supreme Personality of Godhead who is the source of all that exists and the foundation of the entire creation. That Absolute Living Being is known by many thousands of names in many languages. But amongst all of these names one of His most prominent and perfect names is KRSNA (pronounced Krishna), which means the All Attractive and All Beautiful. KRSNA is the source of every living being and all energy and is also the supreme controller of all that exists. He is eternal and has no origin Himself. He is ever existent and has an eternal form full of Bliss and knowledge, Sat, Chit and Ananda. Pure Love and Devotion to Him is the supreme perfection of all living beings and by attaining this, they enter into the eternal spiritual world where they can eternally associate with and serve the All-Love Sri Krsna along with His eternal associates.

The living being in this world, regardless of the present form of bodily manifestation as either a human being, animal, bird, beast, plant, insect or aquatic, is an eternal spiritual particle of transcendental consciousness, known in Sanskrit as Jiva-Atma, or the living entity. In the present condition of material imprisonment, the eternal soul identifies himself with the temporary body which he currently occupies, but in actuality is always separate from and aloof from the physical body, just as a person is separate from a car although riding in it. In this dream-like condition of forgetfulness he forgets his eternal spiritual nature and identity and becomes immersed in the illusion of identifying himself with the temporary material body which is full of suffering and misery ending ultimately in old age and death.

To attain freedom from this condition and to revive the original eternal consciousness of the pure soul, the Vedas describe the most effective process of Bhakti-Yoga, pure divine love and devotion to this absolute Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Krsna. By following this process under the expert guidance of a pure realized guru, spiritual master, and learning how to apply the teachings in a practical way in one’s daily life, anyone can become eligible to attain the highest states of Divine Ecstatic Love of God. This is truly the most complete and ultimate system of God Realization presented in all of the Vedic scriptures and the various religious texts in the world. And this is the pathway to attaining the ultimate goal of human form of life.

On the pages of this website, we invite you to meet the world’s greatest present day exponent and Master of Bhakti-Yoga, His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja. He is the Founder and Acharya of His worldwide mission named The Bhakti Yoga Society, which has members in more than 50 countries around the globe. He is the author and preceptor of the most sublime spiritual literatures on the planet, having authored more than 40 books on the science of Bhakti Yoga. Circling the globe on 28 world tours to more than 30 different countries, He has given spiritual instructions, initiation and guidance in these teachings to more than 30,000 personal disciples and millions of spiritual seekers worldwide. And at the present age of 87 years, He is considered to be the most venerable and distinguished Spiritual Master of this ancient spiritual lineage, having been awarded the title, The Yuga Acarya, the most exalted of all Gurus of this modern era. As a true living example of a fully perfected God-realized soul, He continues tirelessly to enlighten and uplift sincere souls in their own quest for the perfection of life.
