Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu-bindu (a drop from the nectarean ocean of devotion), is a brief summary of the essential topics presented in Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu by Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī. It describes the nature of uttama-bhakti, sādhana-bhakti, the stages in the development of prema, the limbs of bhajana, offences committed in the performance of devotional service, offences against the holy name, vaidhi- and rāgānuga-sādhana-bhakti, bhāva-bhakti and prema-bhakti. Faithful persons who study this book will obtain the qualification to enter into the wealth of the prema of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu.
Bhakti-rasāyana, or the nectar tonic of bhakti-rasa, consists of a compilation of verses from the Tenth Canto of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam that Parīkṣit Mahārāja spoke to his mother, Uttarā, in the final chapter of Śrī Bṛhad-bhāgavatāmṛta. Like stringing pearls on a thread, Śrīla Sanātana Gosvāmī has composed a necklace of these verses for the benefit of the sādhakas (practitioners of bhakti) of this world, to stimulate the moods of bhakti in their hearts.
In Bhakti-tattva-viveka, Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura has extracted the essence of Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu and presented it in simple language that is easy for all to understand. This small book’s four chapters respectively describe bhakti’s intrinsic nature, an analysis of the semblance of bhakti, bhakti’s natural attributes and the qualification for bhakti. These translated lectures comprise the immaculate commentary of Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja on Srila Sanatana Gosvamipada's Sri Brhad-bhagavatamrta. Descriptions given tell how, having recently arrived in Sri Vaikuntha-dhama, the most desirable of places and which entrance into is sought after by unlimited saintly persons, Gopa-kumar is feeling despondent and cannot even ascertain the cause of his own dissatisfaction. At that time he is approached by Sri Narada Rsi, who becomes his siksa-guru (instructing spiritual master) and enlightens him with the tattva necessary to complete his spiritual journey and thereby attain the fulfilment of all his long cherished internal desires in the transcendental land of spontaneous loving devotion to Sri Sri Radha-Govinda, Sri Goloka-Vraja.
Out of the seven hundred verses of the Bhagavad-gītā, Verse 18.65 captures the essence of the entire Gītā: “Absorb your mind and heart in Me, become My devotee, worship Me, offer your praṇāma to Me, and then certainly you will come to Me. I make this promise to you because you are very dear to Me.” The first three chapters of Nectar of Govinda-līlā explain the three elements of this verse in relation to our aim to enter Goloka Vṛndāvana. Other chapters contain a colourful description, infused with pure Gauḍīya siddhānta, of Vasanta-pañcami, the first day of Spring, and other such nectar.

Srila Rupa Gosvami, being Sri Gaurahari's topmost associate, was saturated with His mercy. In this book Srila Rupa Gosvami has given a brief yet vital description of the names, forms, qualities and different services of Sri Radha's and Sri Krsna's cherished companions. In the Brhad-bhaga, or first part, of this composition, he describes those in vatsalya-rasa and madhura-rasa, and in the Laghu-bhaga, or second part, he describes those in sakhya-rasa and dasya-rasa. Sometimes, especially in the second part, he depicts in detail the beautiful forms of Sri Radha and Sri Govinda, as well as Their bodily limbs, Their ornaments and the astonishing paraphernalia used by Them. Such a comprehensive description of Sri Krsna and His companions will not be found in any other single scripture.
The scriptures tell us of the incalculable value of even a moment’s association with a true saint, and Śrī Śrīmad Bhaktivedānta Nārāyaṇa Gosvāmī Mahārāja is exalted even among saints. With great sincerity, his disciples and followers thus availed themselves of any opportunity to accompany him on his morning walks and attend his morning darśanas. In those informal settings, they freely asked a variety of questions, his illuminating responses revealing a mere glimpse of the devotion radiating brilliantly within his heart. Sometimes personal, sometimes disciplinary, sometimes humorous and always loving, he would impart the deepest understandings of the scriptures for the benefit of all. It was on his repeated order that these walks and darśanas be transcribed and published. In this way, he has invited you, also, to walk with him and hear the jewel-like teachings he wants to share with you.
This book consists of a collection of instructions by Śrī Śrīmad Bhaktivedānta Nārāyaṇa Gosvāmī Mahārāja on how truly humble and harmonious dealings are conducive to our practice of bhakti. His purpose in giving us the tools by which we can have proper and affectionate dealings with each other is to ensure our strong and steady progress toward achieving the ultimate goal of life.
What did Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī come to give? Because he understood the heart’s desire of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, he was able to establish Mahāprabhu’s mission on this earth. Śrī Śrīmad Bhaktivedānta Nārāyaṇa Gosvāmī Mahārāja, whose heart and soul are the teachings of Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī, distils the essence of those teachings in this nectarean monograph. From parakīya-bhāva and bhakti-rasa to the characteristics of uttama-bhakti and prema-bhakti, all are explained and defended.
Vaisnava-siddhanta-mala was originally composed in the Bengali language by the incarnation of auspiciousness upon this world, om visnupada Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura who is to be included as an intimate member among the eternal associates of Sri Saci-nandana Caitanya Mahaprabhu, who is the purifier of the age of Kali and the source of all incarnations.

This treatise was originally written in Bengali, in the year 1986, for the 500th anniverary of the advent of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the scheduled yet hidden incarnation for this age of Kali, as established in Sriman-Bhagavatam and other Vedic literatures. It was composed by Sri Srimand Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja (Srila Gurudeva), Sri Caitanya Mahprabhu's illustrious personal associate, whose sole misson and most prominent speciality is to give clairty and emphasis to the specific, internal nature of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's all-compassionate mission in this world.
