Biography
BV Nemi Maharaja (formerly Jnana dasa) joined ISKCON in 1973, took hari-nama and diksa from Srila Prabhupada. He spoke at the first "Life Comes from Life" conference in Vrindavana in 1977, and travelled and preached in UK, East Africa, USA and Scandinavia. He joined Srila Gurudeva's sanga in 1996, and since then has been involved in editing six or seven of Srila Gurudeva's books in English. Generally he now spends the winters editing in India and travels, mostly in CIS, during the summer.
Previously, BV Nemi Maharaja graduated as a scientist and teacher, and has spent many years writing in the field of science and Krishna consciousness. He has developed a presentation showing that world-views can only be consistent if they are based on the relationship between soul and Supersoul. He is developing multi-media presentations in this area, and a website to go on the Internet.
He has also written several Krishna conscious songs in English to traditional melodies, and can accompany himself on instruments such as violin, harmonium, and esraj.
Teaching Focus
BV Nemi Maharaja likes kirtan (standing, sitting or walking) and hari-katha. He also likes to help devotees understand the basic concepts and principles, beginning with guru-nishtha, that enable us to be persistent and consistent in our sadhana-bhajana. He helps devotees to deal with personal difficulties, and he helps groups to deal with interpersonal difficulties and to engage together. He also helps with strategic teaching according to the audience.
