At the present time there is no Hindi edition of the Tenth Canto Srimad-Bhagavatam which is endowed with the wealth of the Gaudiya Vaisnava acaryas' commentaries. This edition is trying to make up for the lack of this. It contains the Tenth Canto's (17-28 chapters') main slokas, anvaya, translation of the slokas, Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura's commentary in Sanskrit and its bhavanuvada in Hindi, and the Bhavaprakasika vrtti, a commentary based on the tikas of Vaisnava acaryas such as Srila Jiva Gosvami and Srila Sanatana Gosvami.

What did Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī come to give? Because he understood the heart’s desire of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, he was able to establish Mahāprabhu’s mission on this earth. Śrī Śrīmad Bhaktivedānta Nārāyaṇa Gosvāmī Mahārāja, whose heart and soul are the teachings of Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī, distils the essence of those teachings in this nectarean monograph. From parakīya-bhāva and bhakti-rasa to the characteristics of uttama-bhakti and prema-bhakti, all are explained and defended.

Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu is a book written by rasikacarya Srila Rupa Gosvami in an elaborate way about the science of devotional service, and by reading this book one can understand the meaning of devotional service. But to elaborately explain madhura-rasa, which is not dealt in great depth in Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu, he wrote Sri Ujjvala-nilamani. It deals with every aspect of madhura-rasa. This book is the only definitive guide to madhura-rasa and ragamayi-bhakti.

Caution: This book will not be comprehensible unless one dives into the deep ocean of bhakti, i.e. Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu. Only after attaining proficiency in Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu should one dare to search for this blue emerald, Ujjvala-nilmani, found deep within the ocean of bhakti, otherwise one may get lost. We should very carefully understand the exalted position of this book and also appreciate the qualification that are required for hearing it.

Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī, the very dear eternal associate of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, established Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s innermost desires in this world. He has compiled a scripture named Ujjvala-nīlamaṇi, which is replete with realization of the ultimate, most effulgent mellow of amorous love for Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the king of Vraja and the emporium of all rasa. Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura has taken the very essence of what was compiled by Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī in Ujjvala-nīlamaṇi and presented it in very simple and easily understandable Sanskrit language, just like putting the entire ocean in a pot.

Sri Upadesamrta by Srila Rupa Gosvami gives instructions indispensable for practitioners (sadhakas) of the devotional path (bhakti). Without following these instructions, entering the realm of pure devotion and especially following the intricate and elevated path of spontaneous devotion (raganuga-bhakti) is not only difficult, but impossible. This unprecedented edition contains the commentaries of Srila Radha-ramana dasa Gosvami, Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura and Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami Prabhupada.

Utkalika means 'very intense eagerness mixed with extreme restlessness,' and vallari means 'creeper;' hence Utkalika-vallari means 'The Vine of Intense Longings.' Srila Rupa Gosvami, being Sri Gaurahari's topmost associate, was saturated with His mercy. As the acarya of transcendental rasa-sastras, he wrote invaluable literatures, including the most exceptional Sri Stava-mala, 'A Garland of Prayers,' which was actually compiled later by Srila Jiva Gosvami. Vaisnava-siddhanta-mala was originally composed in the Bengali language by the incarnation of auspiciousness upon this world, om visnupada Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, who is to be included as an intimate member among the eternal associates of Sri Sacinandana Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the purifier of the age of Kali and the source of all incarnations. It is a compilation of selected verses from the Vedic literatures to provide the reader with a comprehensive analysis of all questions related with sambhanda, abhideya and prayojan tattva.

Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam is the fully ripened, nectarean fruit of the desire tree of all Vedic literature, and within this Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, gopī-prema has been ascertained to be the ultimate objective of the living being. In the chapter called Veṇu-gīta, some of the towering waves of this gopī-prema can be seen, and yearning to be immersed in this nectarean ocean sprouts even in the hearts of the faithful devotees who are situated on its shore.
